4-H relies heavily on responsible adult volunteers in order to provide a positive experience for our youth. All volunteers must undergo a background check in order to be involved in our program. Volunteer positions vary, depending on what is needed in each particular county. Some of our volunteers provide leadership for local 4-H clubs, while others contribute their expertise on a given topic. Join our mailing list! A 4-H club is a group of five or more youngsters guided by one or more adult volunteer leaders. A club can be any size from a small group of kids from one neighborhood to a larger club consisting of youth from all over the county. You will fill out the family profile and the member profile and pay the participation (enrollment) fee. The enrollment fee is $25 per member per year if you enroll by October 31. All youth ages 8-18 years as of September 1 of the current year pay $20 annual membership fees in 4-H Online and is a part of the enrollment and re-enrollment process. If you are a member of a 4-H club, you would normally attend a monthly club meeting that lasts about 1 hour. Depending on your project area, many youth spend at least a few hours plus whatever time you spend learning on your own or in small groups about projects that are interesting to you. A 19-year-old is expected to do a more advanced project; a 10-year-old could be working at an introductory activity.
